How to install vQMod for JooCart?

JOOCART (>=2.2 )
For JooCart(>=2.2) you should use default OCMOD instead of vQmod.
If you still want to install vQmod in JooCart(>=2.2 ) then follow the following instructions:
vqmod installation in JooCart(>=2.2) is same as like as vqmod installation in opencart.

  • Download the latest version that has "opencart" in the title from https://github.com/vqmod/vqmod/releases
  • Using FTP, upload the "vqmod" folder from the zip to the JooCart component folder(your_joomla_root_directory/components/com_opencart/)
  • Be sure the vqmod folder and the vqmod/vqcache folders are writable (either 755 or 777).
  • Also be sure index.php,index_mod.php and admin/index.php are writable.
  • If not sure which you need, first try 755.
  • If you get errors about permissions, then try 777(NOTE: 777 permissions are dangerous and should only be used as a last resort. If your hosting requires this, consult your hosting to let them know this shouldn't be necessary)
  • Goto http://www.yoursite.com/components/com_opencart/vqmod/install
  • You should get a success message. If not, check permissions above and try again
  • Load your store homepage and verify it works.
  • Using FTP, verify that there are new "vq" files in the "vqmod/vqcache" folder.
  • If yes, then you are ready to start downloading or creating vQmod scripts.

JOOCART (greater than 2.0 AND smaller than 2.2 )
For JooCart(>=2.0 and <2.2) you should use default OCMOD instead of vQmod.
If you still want to install vQmod in JooCart(>=2.0 and <2.2) then follow the following instructions:
  • Download the latest version that has "opencart" in the title from https://github.com/vqmod/vqmod/releases

JOOCART (greater than 1.5.1 AND smaller than 2.0)
For JooCart(>=1.5.2.x and <2.0),it is very easy.Just go to JooCart admin panel,Find a button named "Parameters"(in Joomla 1.5.x) or "Options"(in Joomla 1.6.x-3.x) at the top-right or top-left corner.Click on it(in Joomla >=1.6.x See in Preferences Tab) and then Enable vQmod for JooCart. Done

JOOCART (smaller than 1.5.2)
If you use previous version of JooCart then follow the following instructions:
  • Download the latest version that has "opencart" in the title from http://code.google.com/p/vqmod
  • Using FTP, upload the "vqmod" folder from the zip to the JooCart component folder(your_joomla_root_directory/components/com_opencart/)
  • Be sure the vqmod folder and the vqmod/vqcache folders are writable (either 755 or 777).
  • Also be sure index.php,index_mod.php and admin/index.php are writable.
